"Extraction" is an action film for Chris Hemsworth that should be on the big screen. But during these hard times, this is perfect entertainment for you to be watching from the comfort of your home. The star reunites with "Avengers" directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who produced the film, with Joe writing the script.  As a soldier for hire, he must save a son of an imprisoned drug lord who has been kidnapped by a rival’s gang and taken to Bangladesh. Action and violence are the main selling point to this film. Endless shooting, necks snapping and blood gushing on the lens.  Reminds me of 80's action films with lots of body counts.  Hemsworth brings plenty of physicality to the role with a number of  brutal fight sequences. And let me tell you, it doesn't hold back.  The hallmark of the film is an 11-minute chase sequence shot and edited to look like one fluid take.

Summary (out of 5)

½

With an outstanding leading man performance from  Chris Hemsworth.  I can see him becoming a new franchise action star.  This film was very entertaining from start to finish and is worth the watch.  Oh and for your Jim Hopper fans out there. Stranger Things’ David Harbour shows up briefly as a rival mercenary.
